Polish deep-tech startup finQbit is building next-generation hybrid quantum and AI infrastructure to solve one of banking's most persistent bottlenecks: financial risk modeling and derivative pricing.

Founded in 2023 by banking veterans Tomasz Ćwik and Rafał Pracht, the company has raised over $2 million USD in funding and grants to date, established a 10-person operating team, and signed its first commercial contracts.

Crucial to finQbit's early journey was its participation in the 28DIGITAL (formerly EIT Digital) programme, which provided essential R&D funding, incubation support, and early-stage backing from the very start.

Building on that foundation, finQbit in September announced major strategic milestones: securing investments from MB SpeedUp, the joint venture set up between Mediobanca and the London-based company builder and early-stage investor Founders Factory, and welcoming former PKO Bank Polski CEO Zbigniew Jagiełło to its advisory board.

With co-founder and CEO Tomasz Ćwik, we dive into details, starting from the very beginnings, and the foundations: how finQbit is bridging today’s classical supercomputing constraints with tomorrow’s quantum landscape.
