The Green Transition Forum has established itself as a leading European platform for strategic dialogue, bringing together representatives of European institutions, national and local authorities, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and academia.

Under the theme “Europe’s Next Chapter – Competitive. Innovative. Secure.”, this year’s edition will focus on key topics such as sustainable growth, energy transition, technological innovation, security and competitiveness. The event provides a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and the development of strategic partnerships across the region.

Special attention in the program is devoted to regional cooperation in Southeastern Europe, including topics related to energy and transport connectivity, investments, and the development of strategic projects.

Distinguished speakers

The forum will also feature ministers, Members of the European Parliament, senior European Commission officials and leading executives from across the region. Among the confirmed participants are:

Programme highlights

The forum will offer a comprehensive five-day programme structured around key strategic themes for Europe’s future.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore topics including:

  • Competitiveness and industrial transformation;
  • Energy transition and infrastructure;
  • Regional development and EU enlargement;
  • Climate policy, circular economy and sustainable finance;
  • Innovation, artificial intelligence and future growth sectors.

High-level discussions, round tables and interactive sessions will provide insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping Europe’s economic and sustainability agenda.

The National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) encourages the participation of municipal representatives, who will have the opportunity to attend all days of the forum. Special emphasis is placed on 4 June – the day dedicated to regions, cohesion policy, financing, energy efficiency, and sustainable urban development, organized jointly with the European Committee of the Regions.

The forum will take place at Sofia Event Center, and registration for participation is open until 20 May 2026.
