# CEE Startup & Tech Weekly: Nucleo Ventures Launches €34M Fund to Back Startups Across Romania and CEE

**Foodics**, a leading operations and financial management platform in the Middle East and North Africa, [acquires Norma AI](https://www.therecursive.com/greek-norma-joins-saudi-foodics-in-full-acquisition-expanding-its-dedicated-ai-division/), Greece-based AI company focused on the hospitality and restaurant industry.

Almetra, the Berlin-based startup founded by Romanian Silviu Homoceanu and Maximilian Fischer in 2022, [secured **€16.3 million ($19 million)**](https://www.therecursive.com/romanian-founded-almetra-series-a/) **in Series A** funding. With this round, the company's total funding has grown to around €20.8 million, supporting its plans to expand into the US market. The Series A was led by **blisce/, joined by NAP, Merantix Capital, Robin Capital, Underline Ventures, Critical Ventures**, and a group of business angels. 

**Greek robotics startup Acumino** has raised [$11.7 million (](https://letsdatascience.com/news/acumino-raises-117m-seed-to-scale-robotics-deployments-c63b06a0?ref=therecursive.com)10.28 million) in seed funding to scale commercial deployments of its hardware-agnostic physical AI platform for industrial automation. The company is the sole Greek participant in Google DeepMind's first European robotics accelerator cohort — a 15-startup, equity-free program offering access to Gemini robotics models, up to $350,000 in cloud credits, and mentorship from DeepMind engineers, wrapping up with a Demo Day in London in September 2026.

[Czech startup Grid.online](https://www.therecursive.com/czech-grid-online-seed-investment-dff-ventures/) has closed a **€4 million round** to grow its neutral courier infrastructure, off the back of 10× delivery growth and over 1 million parcels delivered in year one. The round was funded by DFF Ventures, Movens Capital, angel investors from the early team of Finnish delivery unicorn Wolt, Reflex Capital, J&T Ventures

[Swiss deep tech investor **Constructor Capital**](https://www.therecursive.com/constructor-capital-backs-ora-computing-ai-model-compression/) has co-led a **€3.5 million seed round** in Ora Computing, a Vienna-based startup that compresses large AI models to make them cheaper and faster to run. The funds will be used for three things: growing the team, expanding compression capabilities to larger frontier models, and launching a commercial product for cloud inference providers and companies that deploy AI at the edge.

[AI startup SuperPlane](https://www.therecursive.com/serbian-superplane-pre-seed-dev-tool/), based in Serbia, secured **€2.28 million** in pre-seed funding to build an open-source control plane that lets AI agents and engineers safely collaborate on production infrastructure. The round was funded by Credo Ventures (lead), First Momentum Ventures; angel investors: Stanislas Polu (CEO of Dust), Mirko Novakovic (CEO of Dash0), Tomas Kratky (Founder of Manta), Andreas Klinger (Prototype Capital).

**Kraków-based agritech firm OneSoil** has raised [€1 million](https://tech.eu/2026/06/18/onesoil-secures-eur1m-to-expand-ai-powered-farming-assistant?ref=therecursive.com) from Yury Melnichek to enhance its AI-powered platform. The company uses satellite imagery and machine learning to provide farmers with real-time field monitoring, crop analytics, and automated agronomic recommendations globally.

**Superpal**, a Vilnius-based AI startup, [has raised €500,000](https://tech.eu/2026/06/22/lithuanian-startup-superpal-raises-eur500k-for-ai-coworker-platform-built-inside-slack/?ref=therecursive.com) in a funding round led by FIRSTPICK, with participation from Outlast Fund, to expand its AI platform that acts as a fully autonomous coworker inside Slack. The platform connects with over 1,000 business tools to execute end-to-end workflows, such as generating reports and presentations, by processing plain language requests directly within team workspaces.

## New CEE fund

Romanian Fortech Ventures has launched a **€34 million investment fund** and unveiled its new identity as **Nucleo Ventures**. Developed in partnership with the North-West Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord-Vest), the fund will back startups and innovative companies across Romania and Central and Eastern Europe, with the aim of supporting internationally scalable businesses while strengthening Romania's North-West Region as a hub for entrepreneurship, investment, and technology talent.

The fund was officially launched on **June 23** in **Cluj-Napoca**, at an event attended by more than 80 representatives from the local startup and business ecosystem, the fund's partners, and ADR Nord-Vest.

## **Across the Atlantic**

After nearly two decades of backing European startups, Seedcamp has raised a record $320 million for its latest fund, marking a significant step in [expanding its presence in the US](https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/22/seedcamp-raises-320m-for-its-new-fund-to-expand-its-us-footprint?ref=therecursive.com).

The new capital is split across two vehicles: $220 million will be deployed through Fund VII for early-stage investments, while $100 million will support follow-on funding for high-performing portfolio companies via a newly launched growth-stage fund, Select.
